Thanegi, Ma. (trans.).  Selected Myanmar short stories, Yangon : Unity Pub. House, 2009.

It was translated by Ma Thanegi. This is origenally written in Burmese version by the Burmese famous authors, by the names of Theikpan Maung Wa, Journal Kyaw Ma Ma Lay, Khin Hnin Yu, Maung Theikha, Htin Lin, Khin Swe U, Aung Thinn, Moe Moe (Inya), Pe Myint, Nyi Pu Lay, Tin Win Yee, Nu Nu Yi (Inwa), Ma Sandar, Atta Kyaw, Ju, Khin Khin Htoo, Nay Win Myint, and Nyein (Shweli). There are 26 short stories in this book.

These are the short stories for the spirit of the people of Myanmar which they portrayed. Many people may not be rich but they live with contentment, humour, compassion and pride in the face of grim reality. They are the real representatives of Myanmar (Burma).  These stories cover a huge variety of human life: marriages like tongue and teeth, love beyond the grave, the anxiety of mothers, the loving-kindness and unkindness, and the snares of enticement and greed.
